Tightrope Books
The story synopsis for this book was intriguing, just the kind of book I would like to read.
Fifteen year old Elsa and her mother must spend the summer at her grandparents’ farm near Saint John, New Brunswick. What transpires there makes for an interesting story. It is well-written and leaves the reader guessing until the last chapter when one mystery is solved, then leaves us speculating about another event even longer.
There are several stories within the larger and all come together to form the whole.
Having said all that, I have one problem with the book. The mystique of the spiritual world becomes, for me, an unnecessary intrusion on the plot. I realize there is a spiritual world but I, for one, have a hard time with ghosts materializing, be it ever so briefly and covertly.
I found this a difficult read.
